About fuel prices in CO15
Where do these fuel prices come from?
From the UK Government's Fuel Finder scheme. Every forecourt must report its pump prices within 30 minutes of a change, so these are the retailers' own prices, not estimates or crowdsourced reports.
How often are they updated?
We check the official feed every five minutes and show the time each price was set. If we haven't been able to update for 30 minutes, the page says so.
Does this cover the whole UK?
Yes. Every forecourt in the scheme is included. Type a postcode anywhere in the UK, or use your phone's location, and choose how far you're willing to drive.
Why do prices differ so much between stations?
Supermarkets and high-volume sites often price lower; motorway and small independent sites tend to be higher. Location, brand and the station's own costs all play a part. We list every station in the area so you can see the spread.
What do the arrows mean?
The arrow shows how a station's price has moved compared with seven days ago, based on our own daily records. The averages at the top are worked out the same way. These are our calculations, not part of the official data.
Can I save fuel without changing where I fill up?
Yes. Under-inflated tyres cost up to 3% more fuel, and worn alignment wears tyres faster. This site is run by Coombe Tyres and Wheels (coombetyres.co.uk), who check pressures, tread and alignment free of charge at their workshop in Park Royal, London.
